Showcase of Temasek Polytechnic’s 3D e-Directory at TP Open-house

G Element is proud to have collaborated with Temasek Polytechnic to develop the 3D e-directory of the Temasek Polytechnic campus, using Conveno’s 3D way-finding software-as-a-service.

In this collaboration, Temasek Polytechnic Engineering students developed the interactive-quality Temasek Polytechnic 3D campus model for their final year project, using real-time 3D modeling guidelines. Upon the completion of the 3D campus modeling, the students were trained by G Element staff on using the online Conveno Editor Content Management System to set up their 3D e-directory.

The final achievement is an intuitive and real-world 3D directory guide of the Temasek Polytechnic campus, that is useful for orientating campus visitors and new students, as well as showcasing the campus facilities. In recognition of the team’s achievements, the 3D e-Directory won a Merit Award and was showcased at the Temasek Polytechnic Open House in 5-7 Jan 2012.

Part I: 3D Conveno Kiosks launched for Changi General Hospital

03 Jan 2011 - Part I: Hospitals are large, sprawling premises and visitors often have a hard time finding the location of a clinic or a ward, especially when they are in an anxious state of mind.

Thus, to provide a comforting visitor hospitality experience, G Element has deployed the innovative 3D Conveno Kiosk solution for the Changi General Hospital. With the 3D Conveno Kiosk solution, visitors can now easily find out the locations of the wards, clinics and facilities, and visualize the way to travel to reach these locations.

Innovative Features & Benefits

The solution features a 3D interactive-quality building model of Changi General Hospital, which helps the user orientate themselves easily with the hospital environment, through the realistic textured modelling. Visitors interact with the kiosks through touch-screen interfaces, and queried information and 3D pathways are then displayed through large-format 46" screens.

The unique feature of the 3D Conveno Kiosk solution is its intelligent path recommendation engine, which recommends the appropriate path for the visitor to travel based on his or her accessibility profile (example below) - an important quality for modern-day buildings with accessibility-friendly considerations. The 3D Conveno Kiosk solution also supports the 4 official languages in Singapore.
